Good day, blogging world!
I awoke this morning to rain hitting my window, and my thermometer reading slightly less than eight degrees. Now, I will remind everybody that today is, in fact, the twelfth of June; it should be much warmer than eight degrees. Due to this dismal weather, I am forced to spend the majority of my time indoors on what could be a lovely day if Mother Nature wasn't such a bitch.
After complaining about the appalling weather (to nobody at all, as both my parents had already left for work) I sauntered downstairs to my computer, logged on to Facebook, and noticed that several first years had joined the "Curtis House 2009-2010" group. This, sadly, excited me to a greater extent than it certainly should have. I quickly found each person within the group’s manifest who had recently joined, added them to my friend list, and sent them a brief message, welcoming them to the house and informing them that I am ready and willing to help them in any way, shape or form should they require the assistance of a resident more senior to them.

On a slightly related note, I am in the process of planning the design of my bedroom next year. Once again, I am pitiable as I feel the need to organize and prepare for a bedroom design nearly three months before said bedroom will, in fact, become my own, with which to do as I please; I explain myself by using the excuse that I do not yet have a full time job and have far too much time on my hands, and must fill it with something I enjoy.
I am currently on the look out for a futon, of sorts. Many of my close friends will not be returning to Curtis, and I feel that, if it is asked of me, I should have a place more comfortable than a residence sofa for them to sleep on.
As I warned in my first posting, there will be various postings of things I feel are necessary for living in a dorm, things I’m personally bringing in, etc. Hopefully it will show up in some searches someone out there makes and helps them out. In fact, I will probably make a second post today of such items.
