Greetings!
I became aware this afternoon that it was possible for me to begin sorting out a schedule for the Fall term of 2009. Now, this poses a little bit of difficulty. You see, in order to complete my entire degree within the next two years, I must complete courses which have not been offered in the past four years, and in all probability will not be offered in the next two years. Thus, I will probably not be able to graduate with my chosen major, concentration and minor combination.
However, I have formulated this schedule:
--Monday and Wednesday --
12:00-12:50 - Music 2012 - Understanding Classical Music (Through Guided Listening)
2:00-2:50 - Folklore 3360 - Sex, Folklore and Power (Homosexuality and Folklore)
7:00-9:30 - English 3350 - Theatre (Practical)
--Tuesday and Thursday--
10:30-11:45 - English 3156 - Modern Canadian Drama
2:00-3:15 - Folklore 2100 - Folklore Research Methods I
--Friday--
12:00-12:50 - Music 2012 - Understanding Classical Music (Through Guided Listening)
2:00-2:50 - Folklore 3360 - Sex, Folklore and Power (Homosexuality and Folklore)
Now, that looks fine and dandy. However, consider this: of those five courses, only 3156, 3350 and 2012 are required for my degree, 3156 is taught a vulture disguised as a professor, and 2012 is a back up because the second option, 20th Century Musicals, has not been offered in five years and I refuse to wait for it to be offered for me.
However, I am not entirely dissatisfied with my course offerings. I have chosen the Folklore courses because I am genuinely interested in them. The professor who will be teaching 3360 (Homosexuality and Folklore) is, in fact, a homosexual (which is actually surprising, considering the sheer number of professors who teach about gay culture yet are, indeed, straight) and quite possibly the second greatest professor to ever live; he is running a very tight race with Christopher Lockett, my 1101 English professor in my first year. As well, Folklore 2100 (Folk Research Methods) should be a breeze of a course, considering that on my final research papers for my previous Folklore courses have all earned me high A's, and thus I should do fairly well in said course.
Now I just need for the rest of my terms here to work out.
